Buck Rogers Trading Cards

Yet another attempt to clone the success of Star Wars came in 1979 with the television revival of the comic strip hero Buck Rogers. The latest in special effects and the hunkiness of Gil Gerard were used to prop up what was ultimately a mediocre sci-fi effort.

Buck Rogers The Topps Buck Rogers trading card set is comprised of 88 cards and 22 stickers.

Card fronts offer a photo scene from the TV show, which is surrounded by a jagged-lightning border against a red background; at each of the four corners of the photo is a small head shot of a character from the show - Buck, Wilma, the robot Twiki, and the princess Ardala.

Card backs are green with a black-and-white drawing of Buck, Wilma, and Twiki in action, and a small paragraph of text relating the ongoing storyline.

Stickers from this set have color photos with red borders, against a blue background with a lightning bolt on either side. Stickers are numbered but uncaptioned.

Set prices usually include stickers.
